Maternity Photoshoot / Sesiwn Bwmp - South Wales Family Photographer

*ewch i waelod y dudalen i ddarllen yn Gymraeg*

Those of you who follow me on social media have no doubt seen the (many!) photos I’ve posted this week of my latest maternity photoshoot. But how could I not?! This gorgeous family who are about to grow a little bit braved the 2*C temperature of Dunraven Bay / Southerndown in the Vale of Glamorgan to capture the short time before 3 become 4. And pregnancy really is such a short time in the grand scheme of things (although it might not feel that way when you have puffy ankles and back ache!). It’s so full of emotions - emotions that will be completely different for every family, and almost before you can adjust, everything has changed again.

Lots of people choose to capture this time by having a maternity photoshoot, and I have to admit that it wasn’t really something I understood until I had my own ‘bump’. I honestly regret not having more photos of myself when I was pregnant, and now that my ‘bump’ is a fiesty 3-year-old, it’s so easy to forget that time of excitement, nerves, anticipation… and lie-ins. So now I do understand it.

So what exactly happens during a maternity session? Although each one is unique, we will always start with the more ‘formal’ photos. They will be gently posed, but still natural looking and will be done before you know it, especially if there are other children at the photoshoot! As a family photographer, I know all too well how short the attention span of a small child can be! The little boy at this shoot was a star - he smiled and looked at the camera every time I call his name. Photographer’s dream!

Once the family and couple photos have been taken, there will be some of mum and bump, and then of the details - including the bump itself! After checking that you’re happy with what we’ve achieved so far, it’s playtime. This is when the children get to play, parents get to chat and go for a walk, and everyone gets to interact as you would if I wasn’t there. And I get to stand back and watch through my lens, clicking away as you (almost) forget I’m there. These photos give a gorgeous snapshot of your family life, and they look great on your mantlepiece!

If you’re pregnant and live in the Cardiff or Vale of Glamorgan area, why not contact me to book a maternity photoshoot for your family. I also offer gift vouchers that enable you to buy the session and a photo package - a perfect present for a growing family.

I’r rhai ohonoch chi sy’n fy nilyn i ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol, dwi’n siwr eich bod chi wedi gweld yr holl luniau dwi wedi bod yn postio’r wsos yma (sori!). Lluniau teulu bach ar lan môr, teulu bach sydd ar fîn tyfu’n deulu mwy, efo babi newydd ar y ffordd o fewn y mis nesaf. Mi oedd y teulu yma’n ddewr iawn - mi oedd hi’n 2*C ar lan y môr (Duraven Bay / Southerndown - Bro Morgannwg) - ond mae’r lluniau yn rhai i’w trysori! Diolch enfawr i’r teulu am rhoi caniatad i fi rannu’r lluniau yma ar y blog.

Mae bod yn feichiog yn gyfnod mor fyr, yn llawn emosiynau gwahanol, ac mae’r emosiynau yma’n wahanol iawn i bob mam beichiog. Mae llawer o bobl yn dewis cofnodi’r adeg byr yma drwy gael ‘sesiwn bwmp’ (maternity photoshoot). Un o’r pethau dwi’n dyfaru peidio gwneud pan o’n i’n feichiog oedd tynnu mwy o luniau o’r bwmp (mae’r bwmp yna bellach yn dair mlwydd oed!), felly dwi’n dallt yn iawn pam fod pobl mor awyddus i gael cofnod o’r amser yma.

Ond beth yn union sy’n digwydd yn ystod sesiwn bwmp? Mae bob sesiwn yn unigryw, ond fel arfer, mi fydd y lluniau mwy ‘ffurfiol’ yn cael eu tynnu’n gyntaf. Mae hyn yn wir yn enwedig os oes plant eraill yn y sesiwn hefyd. Fel ffotograffydd plant, dwi’n gwybod yn iawn mai pur anaml fydd plantos bach isho talu sylw am fwy na 15 munud! Mi oedd yr hogyn bach yma yn seren - gwenu a sbïo ar y camera bob tro i mi weiddi ei enw! Ciwt!

Ar ôl cael lluniau o’r rhieni efo’i gilydd, daw’r lluniau unigol - mam a bwmp - ac yna lluniau’r manylion bach, fel y bwmp ei hun! Ar ôl gwneud yn siwr fod y teulu’n hapus, mae’n amser chwarae! Dyma pryd fydd y plant yn cael chwarae, rhieni’n mynd am dro, a finnau jyst yn sefyll nôl a gwylio’r cyfan drwy’r lens. Mae’r lluniau teulu anffurfiol yma yn rhoi cipolwg hyfryd o’ch teulu chi, ac yn edrych yn grêt ar silff ben tân!

Os ydych chi’n feichiog, ac yn byw yn ardal Caerdydd neu Bro Morgannwg beth am gysylltu er mwyn bwcio sesiwn ‘bwmp’ i’ch teulu chi. Mae croeso i chi hefyd brynu sesiwn fel rhodd - syniad gwych ar gyfer anrheg i’r teulu bach.
